Monthly Meetings
The North Jersey Mineralogical Society holds regularly scheduled monthly meetings at the Paterson Museum, at 2 Market Street, in Paterson, NJ. Visitors are always welcome to join us at our regular meetings to see what NoJMS is all about!
Our club meetings are always open to the public! Those under 17 should be accompanied by an adult. Club meetings are a great place to start or add to a mineral collection, as well as a great learning experience for everyone interested in the Earth sciences.
Meeting Details:
- Our club meetings are open to the public, with individuals under 17 accompanied by an adult.
- Meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Thursday of each month, starting at 6:30pm, unless otherwise specified.
- Meetings are not held in July, August (summer break), and December (holiday party).
Meeting Agenda:
- 6:00-7:00 PM: Social Hour, Show and Tell, and Mineral sales/swap.
- 7:00-7:45 PM: Club business meeting.
- 7:45-8:00 PM: Mineral Madness! (Free door prize drawing).
- 8:00-9:00 PM: Guest speaker/lecture/program.
Scheduled field trips and upcoming events are announced at the meetings and featured in our club newsletter, sent via email to members and posted on our website.
Directions to the Paterson Museum: The Paterson Museum is situated in the Great Falls Historic District, accessible from Route 80, Route 46, and other major highways.
From the East:
- Take I-80 west to exit 57, then Rt. 19 NORTH towards Downtown Paterson.
- Turn left at Canici St., then left at Market Street.
- The museum entrance is on the left after 2 1/2 blocks.
From the West:
- Take I-80 East to Exit 56B, then follow Glover Ave. to McBride Ave.
- Turn right onto Market St. opposite Burger King.
- The museum entrance is on the right after 2 blocks.
Parking: A well-lit, fenced-in parking lot is available for visitors.
Meeting Updates: In the rare event of a meeting relocation, members will be notified via email and updates will be posted on our website homepage.
